Immaculata is renovating various areas on campus this summer to accommodate more students, modernize facilities and conserve energy. The work is underway and will be completed in time for students’ return in the fall.

Additional Dorm Rooms in Villa Maria Hall

As enrollment numbers increase, demand for on-campus housing increases. As such, Immaculata is returning the second floor of Villa Maria Hall East to dorm rooms. The Immaculata facilities team is working to convert what was recently office space back into dorm rooms that will house 27 students beginning this fall.

Students in this new residential space will enjoy the historic beauty of Immaculata’s oldest building with all new features, such as walls freshly painted in Immaculata blue, luxury flooring, rolling shades, energy-efficient LED lighting, brand-new furniture, new washing machines and dryers, and a new hall lounge with a TV, microwave and water bottle filling station. These renovations are possible thanks to gifts from Immaculata’s donors, including many who previously lived on the second floor of Villa.

Nazareth Dining Hall Renovations

A gift from an anonymous donor is funding renovations to transform the layout of Nazareth Dining Hall and facilitate community-building and conversations over meals. The new layout will allow guests to move through lines faster with streamlined food stations staffed by the dining services team. Restaurant-style booths and additional seating will create a cozy atmosphere for gatherings. New lighting, flooring and ceilings will create a brighter, more welcoming ambiance.

New Boiler

Heating Immaculata’s century-old buildings is a massive job. This summer, Immaculata is replacing the current boiler, which is over 60 years old, with a a new boiler that will be about 20% more energy efficient and that will have much lower carbon emissions. This will save the University more than $10,000 per year on heating bills and reduce its energy use, contributing toward its sustainability goals.
