Tuition Freeze for 2021-2022 Academic Year
Tuition for 2021-2022 will remain the same for all academic programs. Room and board and all fees will also remain at the current rate for next year. All 10 of Immaculata’s associate degree programs will now be priced at $250 per credit, which marks a decrease for some programs.
Innovations in Professional Nursing Award
The Division of Nursing earned the 2020 Innovations in Professional Nursing Award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). This award recognizes the nursing faculty’s outstanding work to re-envision traditional nursing education and lead programmatic change.
With the goal of increasing students’ first-time pass rate on the nursing licensure exam (NCLEX), the Division of Nursing launched the NCLEX Success Project in 2016. This initiative added more active learning strategies throughout all nursing courses, with increased use of simulations, case studies and interactive computer-based learning resources for both classroom time and student learning enrichment.
New Academic Programs and Classes
A new Reading Specialist PK-12 Certificate Program is launching to prepare students to teach literacy and serve as literacy leaders in their schools and districts. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of literacy development, administration and analysis of assessments, and research-based instructional practices.
A new introductory course on Telemental Health Counseling allows students to learn how to screen clients for appropriateness for telemental health; assess the level of risk for the client; and learn how to develop an emergency management plan specific to telemental health.
Senator Dinniman Celebrates Immaculata’s Centennial
To commemorate Immaculata University’s centennial, State Senator Andrew E. Dinniman presented a citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to Immaculata’s president, Barbara Lettiere ’72 (also pictured is Sister Carroll Isselmann, IHM, director of strategic initiatives).
First Win for Esports
The new Esports team made history with its first victory, a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Action match with nearby Eastern University. The season wraps up at the end of January.
Programs for Catholic Educators
A new partnership with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia provides a teacher residency program for candidates who are then eligible for full-time educational placement as a teacher/aide in an elementary school setting within the Archdiocese that includes salary and benefits. Candidates earn a college education by attending evening classes and receive financial assistance for tuition.
Teachers and administrators who work in any Catholic school system and hold a master’s degree can participate in Immaculata’s new synchronous cohort for the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program. Students enrolled in the cohort are eligible for a 25% tuition discount.
