Women’s Basketball

The Atlantic East Conference named Tessa Liberatoscioli ’24 Defensive Player of the Week for the weeks of Dec. 11-17, Dec. 18-31 and January 2-7. As of Jan. 11, 2024, the Mighty Macs guard has 47 assists, 18 blocked shots, 58 steals and 149 points in 16 games.

Women’s Cross Country 

During the Sept. 29 Dan Talbot Open, Aubrey Donahue ’27 was Immaculata’s top runner, finishing second place overall in the Women’s 6K Run, with a time of 25:43.9. This was the sixth-fastest time in program history for a 6K event. Additionally, Donahue won the Atlantic East Conference individual championship, taking home the gold medal at the AEC championships.

Women’s Volleyball 

Emily Ettien ’24 registered her 1,000th career assist for the Immaculata women’s volleyball team in their match against Penn State-Abington on Sept. 7. Ettien became the fifth player in program history to reach the 1,000 assist mark.

Men’s Basketball

On Dec. 16, the Immaculata men’s basketball team defeated the men’s team from Mississippi University for Women. This was the first match up between the two schools since the 1972 inaugural Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (A.I.A.W.) national semifinals that featured their respective women’s programs. In 1972, the women won on their way to their first of three consecutive national championships.

Men’s Cross Country

Ivan Zavala-Zavala ’27 finished first overall in the Men’s 8K Run at the Dan Talbot Open on Sept. 29, with a time of 28:24.4, helping the Mighty Macs to a third-place finish. Zavala-Zavala’s time is the seventh-fastest time in program history. He now holds seven of the top ten fastest times for the men’s cross-country program.

Several new coaches joined the athletic department for the fall semester, including:
