1967

Robie Wright Verostick, Mary Ann Burns Duffy, Rita Bensinger Hartleroad and Kathy Cooper Kulesza 
The Q shares: “Good fun was had at the Christmas Tea, which is always a lovely event. It was great seeing one another!  Save April 27—though 2024 is not a ‘Reunion Year’ for us, we will be attending Reunion and encourage you to be there if you can. When possible, we should take advantage of these opportunities to spend time together. Use the IU website to send in your news.”

1968

West Chester University’s Dean of the College of Education and Social Work Desha Williams and President Chris Fiorentino unveiled Sally Winterton’s Wall of Honor plaque at a reception at the West Chester University Foundation.

1969

Kathleen Daley McKinley, Ph.D. fondly recalls the contributions of Bud McKinley, Frank Monaghan, and Dan Machon to Immaculata University.

1970

The class of 1970 was well-represented during the Oct. 6, 2023 Awards Reception. Classmate Kathleen Mulhern Clark was one of the evening’s honorees, receiving the Alumni Medal posthumously. Those in attendance included Ellen Hayes Cerritelli, Anne Meister, Catherine Marrella Caprio, Susan McDevitt Patterson, Patricia Barbano Bertschy, Anne Marie Conway Six, Helen Cattalo Halpin and Izanne Leonard-Haak. Loretta Chirico Perthes was present but is not pictured.

1973

Eileen Chopnick attended a recent health fair at Nativity BVM Senior Center in Philadelphia with center director Jennifer Scornaienchi and IU dietetic intern Timothy Stengel, who presented his project for the community rotation.

1986

Thomas Cooley, Jr., M.A., and his wife Mary Macks Cooley ’88 M.A., accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award from Association of Healthcare Foodservice in August 2023.  The Cooleys were the first couple to receive this award, which is the organization’s highest honor. Tom was the first male graduate from the nutrition master’s program at Immaculata.

1993

In August Immaculata alumnae attended the wedding of Isabel Rizzo (daughter of Kathleen Dean Rizzo) and Andrew Penk. Also present were Michelle Kaas and Ann Taylor Dean ’63 (grandmother of the bride).

2000

Mya Pawlicki Swires shares, “I recently filmed a pilot with the Eat this TV network. We received over 10K views in five days and have been picked up for a 12-episode show! Bakery is all natural, sugar-free and gluten-free!”

2005

After 16 years in the classroom as a French teacher, Susan Blackburn Gregory has accepted a position as her school’s instructional technology coach, with the Verizon Innovate Learning Schools initiative, which will incorporate her IT minor.

2008

Sara Pletcher Bluhm graduated from Leadership Delaware, a year-long program that recruits and mentors the best and brightest Delawareans. The program is competitive, and chosen students meet for two days once a month to participate in a series of issue-oriented forums and networking opportunities.

2011

Justine Butler is engaged to Adam Gould. They reside in Florida. An April 2024 wedding is planned along with their furry son Clyde.

Benjamin Ruby, Ed.D., is the supervisor of online learning at Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, serving school districts in York, Adams, and Franklin counties.

2012

Nicole Preziuso DeSantis, Kelly D’Ambrosio Klingensmith and Maria Nanni Wankmiller gathered over the summer to introduce the next generation of Mighty Macs, their newborns, to each other.

Courtney Saum Dombrowski and her husband Andrew had a baby girl in July 2023, Alexandra Noel. Alex joins her 2-year-old brother, Jameson Andrew.

Brian Nowak & Ashley McGraw Nowak welcomed son, Patrick, on his due date, sharing Connor’s first day of Catholic school—a family milestone!

2013

Lauren Kopenits Feist shares, “I have gone into private practice with my license in professional counseling. I work out of the Lancaster, PA office in person, as well as providing telehealth services to all residents in PA.”

2016

Lindsay Dugan Bruno shares, “On Sept. 30, 2023, William Bruno and I were married. Will is the grandnephew of Sr. Lorraine Bruno, whom we credit for bringing us together during our time at IU.”

2017

Jacqueline Jewell received a 2023 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Award for “Best Newscast Evening-Larger Markets” for her story, “Deadly Explosion Levels Chocolate Factory.” As a student, Jewell majored in communication with a concentration in journalism and a minor in English literature. She is serving as an adjunct faculty member at Immaculata, teaching Broadcast Performance and Short Scripts that Sell.

2018

Michelle Billy Jamieson shares, “On July 7, 2023, I married Jeffrey Jamieson! A week later, we had a second reception in Washington State to celebrate with Jeffrey’s friends and family that couldn’t make it to Pennsylvania. Shortly after that, we enjoyed our honeymoon in Alaska!”

2020

The Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association named Yaniv Aronson Ed.D. the 2023 Mayor of the Year last September. Aronson, who has been mayor of Conshohocken since 2018, is also an assistant professor of media and communications at Montgomery County Community College and earned his doctorate in higher education at Immaculata. “Making sure I bring up education whenever I can has been one of my main focuses as mayor,” he said.

Chrystine Karaman is a music therapist at Tempo Music Therapy in West Chester, PA in addition to her work at Melmark.

2023
