Fall 2025 Issue
Making A Mighty Impact

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

These days, people everywhere are asking: Is a college degree still worth it? It’s a fair question. But in a world that is constantly changing, higher education is critical.

In this issue of the Immaculata Magazine, you’ll read about alumni making an impact on their careers and communities, as well as faculty designing and updating courses to prepare students for today’s job market. With 92% of the Class of 2024 employed in their fields or pursuing advanced degrees, the strength of an Immaculata education is clear.

While artificial intelligence can replicate tasks once done by people, it cannot replace interpersonal skills, ethical judgment, creativity, or build relationships. And it can’t adapt the way people can — strengths developed and refined in college.

Often, it’s the “soft skills” more than the technical lessons that prove most valuable to our alumni throughout their careers and in life. So, if a college degree is under scrutiny, higher education should meet those challenges head-on. At Immaculata, we are doing just that. I am proud to say an Immaculata degree is as valuable today as it was 30, 50 or even 100 years ago.

I cannot predict the future, but I do know that decision-making, critical thinking, interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt will always be sought-after traits students learn at Immaculata and use throughout their lifetime.
